So I called the hospital right away and explained the situation to the receptionist.

The receptionist was really understanding and said that they could reschedule the appointment for a later date. But I was still worried about the delay and asked if there were any other options. The receptionist suggested that I contact the specialist's office directly and see if they could fit me in for an emergency visit.

I took the receptionist's advice and called the specialist's office. They were able to fit me in for a visit the next day, which was a huge relief. Although the delay caused some inconvenience, I was grateful that I was able to get the medical attention I needed without any further delay.
